Project Brief

A restaurant and nightclub in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, wanted to revitalise its outdoor seating area ahead of the busy summer season. Years of exposure to the coastal environment had left the decking and benches looking tired and weather-worn, impacting the overall appearance of the space.

Project Requirements

DWPM were brought in to restore and refresh the external seating area, including the preparation and refurbishment of the decking and benches. All finishes needed to be suitable for a seafront location, providing durability and protection against the elements while also creating a welcoming and attractive space for guests.

What We Delivered

DWPM carried out a full refurbishment of the outdoor seating area, focusing on both the decking and bench seating. The project began with thorough jet washing and cleaning to remove built-up dirt, weathering and surface contaminants. The decking was then prepared and restored before being treated with a durable, weather-resistant finish designed to withstand the challenges of a coastal environment and high visitor numbers. The benches were carefully sanded and prepared before being repainted in a bold, vibrant pink, creating a striking feature that brought new energy and personality to the space. The completed project gave the outdoor space a new lease of life, transforming it into a bright and welcoming area where guests can relax, socialise and enjoy the waterfront.
