Project Brief
Following a fire in the laundry room of this historic property, extensive smoke damage had spread throughout the building, leaving walls, ceilings and surfaces heavily contaminated with soot and smoke staining. The restoration required specialist products, careful preparation and a methodical approach to return the property to looking brand new while preserving the character of the building. DWPM delivered a complete smoke damage restoration, bringing the space back to life!
Project Requirements
The smoke damage restoration process was way more than just repainting the affected surfaces. Every area first needed specialist cleaning to remove soot deposits and eliminate smoke residue before any decorative work could begin. The project required the use of specialist soot sponges to lift carbon deposits, followed by a smoke degreaser to thoroughly clean all affected surfaces. To prevent staining from bleeding back through the new finish, two coats of stain-blocking primer were applied throughout before the final decorative coatings could be completed. The result needed to provide both a flawless appearance and a durable finish suitable for the property's continued use. The team worked hard through preparation to make sure our work lasted.
What We Delivered
A complete smoke damage restoration from preparation through to paint decoration. Our team removed soot, cleaned every affected surface, sealed persistent smoke staining with two coats of specialist stain-blocking primer and finished the property with two coats of Dulux Diamond Eggshell for a hard-wearing, high-quality finish. As a Dulux Select Decorator, our work is independently assessed and guaranteed, giving the client complete confidence in the finished result. The project transformed a smoke-damaged historic building into a fresh, restored space ready for its next chapter, demonstrating the same care, skill and attention to detail that we bring to every project.
